March 28, 2018
1. Publish real reviews and testimonials from actual people
When visitors read testimonials and reviews from people who have purchased your products or services, it helps build trust in your brand. People will naturally believe what others have to say about you, rather than what you say about yourself. We recommend that the reviewer is properly identifiable – not some vaguely generic name. If you can include their photographs or Facebook profile, even better.
2. Show people the Faces behind the brand
At the end of the day, people love to interact with other people, not a faceless brand. It can be great to include a detailed ‘About Us’ page which tell peoples your story, display photos of the main people behind the brand which can help personalise your organization. This simple act will go a long way in building public confidence in your brand and company.
3. Use genuine photos
In some cases, it can be worthwhile Investing in a good quality camera, or hire a professional, and shoot good images to post on your site. In the homepage, about and contact pages, it can be highly beneficial to use genuine photos– of products, your premises, the people behind the brand, and so on. Stock images can fulfill requirements for certain blog posts and social media material ; but for the main sections of your website, shoot good images posted to your site will make people trust your brand.
4. Strong, useful content
Google favours websites that provide genuine value to users; this means you need to have content that is useful for the viewer. This content can be in the form of blogs and videos covering a range of topics from educational, frequently asked questions and even case studies.
5. Encourage Social Engagement
Similar to reviews on your website and on third party sites, likes and shares on social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. help build your brand credibility and awareness in the public eye. When people share your videos or posts, they are voting for your brand, saying this is a good, genuine brand, which they like. When you have a whole lot of people voting from various sources for your products and services on social media, the more authentic your business appears, and the more authority it will earn. Encourage your customers to engage on social media by providing social media icons/feeds on your website.
